In the third part of our series, we talk with Boston-based Sales Development Representative, Dina Henderson, to provide a little insight into her day-to-day at Turbonomic. Read below to learn all about her journey!
What drew you to Turbonomic?
Two things drew me to Turbonomic. Firstly, knowing the product is one that is making IT professionals' lives easier. And secondly, the atmosphere of teamwork and camaraderie within the company is unmatched.
What is your proudest or most memorable moment at Turbonomic?
My most memorable moment at Turbonomic was when I had the opportunity to present my “whiteboard presentation” to the entire sales team, where I illustrated the problem Turbonomic addresses and the unique solution it provides to customers.
Who is your biggest inspiration or mentor at Turbonomic?
The Account Executives I support are my biggest inspirations at Turbonomic. Getting to work alongside them and learning how they close deals has given me an inside look into how sales works, giving me the right resources to excel in my position.
How does your team stay engaged and manage remote work during COVID?
We have weekly touchpoints as a full team and consistent 1:1 meetings with our managers. We also have call shadowing sessions - where we get on the phone with another sales development representative and shadow them during their calls for the day. The goal of this is to learn from one another and pick up on new knowledge and different skills to make us more successful.
How would you describe the culture of Turbonomic/on your team?
I would describe the culture as uplifting and one that prioritizes teamwork. Everyone is always ready to lend you a hand, so never be afraid to ask for help. We all work hard to hit our numbers individually and are all willing to help each other out if one of us is struggling. You can really feel the camaraderie and support within the group.
What's the most rewarding part about working here?
I think one of the most rewarding things is the fact that Turbonomic gives employees the resources and opportunities they need to get a hands-on education on all things sales and technology.
What was it like to interview for the SDR role at Turbonomic?
It was apparent that everyone I interviewed with believes in Turbonomic’s message and wants their fellow coworkers to succeed. I was nervous at first, but once I realized this, my worries melted away and I was able to have productive, engaging conversations with each member of the Turbo team I interviewed with.
What excites you about working in the technology industry?
The fact that the technology industry is always changing, always growing, and will always be innovating new practices makes it exciting to be part of such a dynamic and necessary industry.
What does it take to be successful as an SDR at Turbonomic?
Hard work, drive, and a sense of creativity to discover new ways to try and break into accounts are what will set you up for success as an SDR at Turbonomic.
