VMTurbo Customers Assure Application Performance

How have VMTurbo customers assured application performance?

In our latest TechValidate survey we asked our customers about application performance, including which issues first caused them to consider VMTurbo and what types of applications they’ve been able to assure performance for leveraging our demand-driven control platform.

So what are the main application performance challenges that drove customers to evaluate VMTurbo?

In our latest survey TechValidate asked this question of over 1,000 customers across large and midmarket enterprises in multiple industries all over the globe. The first challenges that customers highlighted was slow or degraded performance of mission critical applications. With 50% of customers selecting it as the top challenge. Slow or degraded performance on I/O intensive applications was a close second with 47% of customers highlighting it as the top challenge.

Assuring application performance is critical to any enterprise. Applications are the front line for managing customer interactions whether they’re online, running the customer relationship management system or managing the end-to-end supply chain for an organization.  As a Forrester blog post points out managing application performance has increased in difficulty with today’s virtualized and cloud environments making assuring application performance more critical than ever.

As we’ve mentioned in a previous post, VMTurbo takes a very different approach to assuring application performance. Leveraging our demand-driven control platform customers have been able to assure performance of mission critical applications, which ones?

Customer Survey verified by TechValidate.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM) where the top mission critical applications VMTurbo customers have assured performance for with 35% selecting this option. Business Intelligence (BI) and analytics was a close second with 34%.

And what about assuring performance of I/O intensive application workloads?

Customer Survey verified by TechValidate.

Database suites was the top I/O intensive application type customers have been able to assure performance for. 61% of customers assured performance of their databases. Databases are some of the most resource intensive members of the data center and not too long ago some organizations believed they should not even virtualize their SQL servers.

Beyond databases, customers have been able to assure application performance of VDI (38%), backup/recovery (38%) and transaction processing (36%).
