Humans of Turbonomic Part 4

Posted by Kristin Moore on Sep 10, 2019 11:15:00 AM

In the fourth part of our series, we talk to Taylor Butler, who has been at Turbonomic for 1 year and 7 months. Read below to learn all about his journey!

What is your role here at Turbonomic?

I currently manage 17 Sales Development Reps who cover various territories across North America.

What brought you to Turbo?

I felt that because of the size of Turbo, my voice would be heard. I would have the opportunity to help build out different processes and programs for the sales org while using techniques I have used in previous roles.

What is your most memorable moment at Turbo?

Closing out the year in February. Everyone celebrated the year and we got to see Steve, our VP and GM of Commercial Sales, who had worked so hard, get told he could go to the Superbowl. Our reps were able to throw a pie in someone’s face if they met their number for the year. It was a lot of fun and a good way to end the year.

Who is your biggest inspiration or mentor at Turbo?

Steve Corndell because of his passion, especially at his level. The amount of face time I have with him and his ability to get involved in customer situations is admirable. Not everyone in his position would be able to make time for people as much as they should but Steve goes above and beyond to support every member of his team in every aspect that he can.

If you weren’t in your current role, what is another team you would like to be a part of?

Sales Ops – I am very process driven so I like to see everything in the bigger picture and then trace it back. See how we can learn from our mistakes and improve or shorten our process. Finding a better way, working smarter not harder, to make sure everyone is being as successful as possible.

What is your favorite thing about having an open concept office?

My favorite thing about the open concept is the interaction. We have a saying here, one team one fight, and the open concept here fosters a lot of communication and teamwork which leads to stronger business relationships and more impactful campaigns.

What is your biggest goal for the next year?

Professionally, I would like to keep getting better and continue to grow in my career here at Turbo as well as grow the success of the sales development org. Personally, I would like to buy a second house.

What is your favorite lunch spot around the office?

Viga – quick, easy, and dependable. My go-to's are the chicken caesar wrap, chicken parm sandwich, or pepperoni pizza.

Favorite Turbo perk?

Open door policy to our executives. We have direct access to some of the highest-respected people in the company. It is tremendously helpful not only in your current role but also from a growth standpoint.

Do you have any pets?

I do. I have a cavapoo named Bennington.
