Humans of Turbonomic Part 3

In the third part of our series, we talk to Jenna Kominski, who has been at Turbonomic for 1 year and 2 months. Read below to learn all about her journey!

What is your role here at Turbonomic? Skype_Picture_2019_07_31T18_09_37_356Z

I am the Marketing Program Coordinator and I am a part of the Digital Marketing team. Some things I am responsible for include: generating marketing-qualified leads, running our social media accounts (both organic and paid content), manage our blog, write copy for email promotions, assist in webinar production, and oversee our internal employee advocacy platform called The Pulse. The Pulse makes it easy for our employees to share social media content on their personal channels. 

What brought you to Turbo?

I saw online that Turbo was looking for a Social Media Coordinator and as a graduating Public Relations major, the role seemed like a perfect fit. Someone from the People team was an alumni from my school and we connected over that. I went through the interview process and got a really good feeling about the work environment and everyone I would be working with. Now I’m here!

How would you describe the culture of Turbonomic?

Much more open than any other workplace I have been a part of. I feel like if I need help, I can really go to anybody. Teamwork is a big part of my day to day here, and I really enjoy having coworkers I can count on. It’s also nice that I can wear jeans to work!

Who has been your biggest influence at Turbo?

I would say both Andrew Racine and Elizabeth Sheehan, both on the Digital Marketing team. They have both been on the team since I started and they've really helped guide me into the world of marketing, as well as the ins and outs of Turbo. They've taught me so much since I've been here, and I've been able to achieve so many goals with their support. 

Most memorable moment at Turbo?

When I presented at company lunch! Company lunch happens every other week where all of the offices get lunch catered and different company updates are provided. I presented in front of the entire Turbo community about a contest we were running for The Pulse. It was crazy that after only 4 months, I was already able to present to the entire staff.

The deck! A nice place to eat lunch or get some work done in the sun. It’s very peaceful, seeing that we are the only floor in the entire building that  has one.

Since we have an unlimited vacation policy, what’s your favorite way to spend a PTO day?

I love traveling – this year I have been to Nashville, Seattle, and Orlando so far. It is nice knowing that at Turbo, I have the flexibility to be adventurous and experience new things.

What’s your favorite lunch spot around the office?

I frequent By Chloe, Cava, and Chipotle. If I am in the mood for a sit down meal, my top choices are Cafeteria and Citrus + Salt.

If you weren’t on the Marketing team, what’s another role you could see yourself in at Turbo?

I really like the People Team. The process of meeting new people, setting up interviews, vetting candidates, searching for new prospects, getting to see so many parts of the business, and helping guide people through their career is really interesting to me. 

Do you have any pets?

Yes! A Yellow Naped Amazon named Moose. He’s 35 years old. He doesn’t like me, but I love him unconditionally. When the phone rings he says "hello" and if everyone around him is laughing, he'll laugh with us.
