The ongoing pandemic has changed the dynamics of how people throughout the world lead their lives, interact with others, and prioritize their purchases. Many industries have experienced drastic fluctuations in demand in concert with a forced shift to work-from-home conditions that has made it difficult for them to provide for their employees and service their customers.
Turbonomic has been fortunate in our ability to operate effectively with a remote workforce, and to have solutions that help customers deal with the dual challenges of adapting to dynamic demand and using software to automate IT operations that assure application performance. As demand for Turbonomic software ramped sharply this year, the Turbonomic Educational Services team pivoted quickly to deliver remote training to meet the highest demand we have ever experienced. Importantly, we made the decision to waive educational training fees for our remote classes so that cost would not be an obstacle for customers that were already seeing significant IT budget cuts.
To date, we have given more than 55 public classes, and over 100 private trainings, worth more than $2.9 million. More than 3,200 people have been Turbo-trained since the start of the pandemic. Classes have spanned a variety of topics, including ACE Remote Training to Integration with Applications and ServiceNow, Turbonomic Management of Cloud Native Applications, Integration with Horizon VDI, ACE Master Cloud Remote, and Turbonomic 8 and SaaS.

As The World Economic Forum observed, “What has been made clear through this pandemic is the importance of disseminating knowledge across borders, companies, and all parts of society. If online learning technology can play a role here, it is incumbent upon all of us to explore its full potential."
We feel that companies that are in a position to help have a moral obligation to do so. We have made our materials available to anyone who registers on our learning management system. This includes PDFs of the training slides, related videos, lab exercises with hints, and self-assessments. We also partnered with Turbonomic technology experts to enhance our YouTube channel to 24 videos, answering questions about deployment, customization, scaling, automation and more. We also started a Virtualization and Cloud glossary that goes beyond Turbonomic-specific terms for the convenience of our users.
