Turbonomic Becomes a Founding Member of the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color

As a part of Turbonomic’s continued effort to support diversity in leadership, we are excited to sign on as founding members of the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color. This pledge asks companies to commit to interview at least one qualified person of color for every open leadership role, VP and higher, including the C-suite and Board of Directors.

This announcement comes on the heels of Turbonomic signing the original ParityPledge in June of 2020 that commits the company to create equal opportunity for women in leadership positions – becoming a founding member of the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color is a powerful and necessary extension of this commitment. Other founding members include industry leaders such as Adobe, Overstock, athenahealth, and SurveyMonkey.

The evidence is clear that there is immense value in investing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) – just look at studies from McKinsey & Company and Boston Consulting Group that show the correlation between racial diversity, innovation, and increased financial returns. The return on investment of DEI reaches far beyond profitability – a recent Catalyst report breaks down the four pillars of business that DEI impacts, including talent, innovation and group performance, reputation and responsibility, and financial performance:

Despite the enormous value DEI brings to companies, people of color experience more microaggressions, lower pay, discrimination, and fewer opportunities for advancement than their white counterparts – it’s clear that we must act now to work towards achieving equality and justice for people of color in the workplace and beyond.  Signing the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color to increase leadership diversity is only the first step. We also must ensure we promote equity to create opportunity and advancement for all, as well as inclusion to ensure underrepresented communities feel both respected and empowered.

As an organization, we have a responsibility to our stakeholders – including investors, employees, customers, and partners – to use our platform to drive positive change starting at the top of our organization. We are incredibly proud to be founding members of the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color and hope other companies will consider signing to show their commitment to action.
